Product Design & Development
- Lead design and development of new cast components based on customer drawings, specifications, and requirements.
- Prepare and review 3D models, 2D drawings, and casting simulation reports using CAD/CAM/CAE tools.
- Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, quality, and cost (DFM/DFA principles).
- Conduct technical feasibility studies for new product inquiries and provide design recommendations.
Tooling & Process Development
- Oversee design and development of patterns, core boxes, gating, and riser systems.
- Guide simulation and validation of foundry processes to minimize casting defects and improve yield.
- Coordinate with tool room and production teams for pattern trials and design validations.
Project Management
- Manage the complete New Product Development (NPD) process from RFQ to production release.
- Prepare development plans, timelines, and technical documentation.
- Interface with customers for design approvals, technical discussions, and PPAP submissions.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Implement advanced tools such as casting simulation, 3D scanning, and additive manufacturing for design improvements.
- Continuously review and optimize designs and processes to reduce cost, lead time, and rework.
- Benchmark and implement best practices in foundry design and process development.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of design engineers and foundry technologists.
- Ensure effective coordination between design, production, and quality departments.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Production Engineering
- OR Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Foundry Technology with strong technical experience
- Minimum 12–20 years of experience in foundry design, product development, and tooling engineering.
- Proven expertise in new product introduction, casting simulation, and process optimization.
- Strong understanding of various casting processes (Sand Casting, Gravity Die Casting, Investment Casting, etc.).
- Exposure to machining, pattern development, and quality systems preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, CATIA, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in casting simulation tools (MAGMA, ProCAST, etc.)
- Knowledge of metallurgy, solidification principles, and foundry process parameters
- Project management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 quality systems
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Develop, implement, and monitor a preventive and predictive maintenance program to minimize downtime for forging presses, furnaces, cranes, and machining support equipment.
- Breakdown Management & Root-Cause Analysis Rapidly respond to breakdowns, lead root-cause analyses, implement corrective or cost-saving improvements, and avoid repeat failures.
- Team & Contractor Leadership Manage internal technicians and external contractors. Schedule shifts, plan workloads, train staff, and maintain workforce continuity.
- Spare Parts & Inventory Control Forecast parts usage, maintain minimum stock, vendor coordination, and manage procurement to reduce downtime and control costs.
- Budgeting & Cost Optimization Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets, identify efficiency gains, and propose capital/repair investments or upgrades.
- Safety & Compliance Management Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with quality and industrial safety standards. Conduct periodic safety audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with production, engineering, and quality teams on process improvements and equipment modifications.
- Reporting & Documentation Maintain equipment history logs, work order systems (CMMS), KPIs (downtime, reliability), and generate periodic reports for senior management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; a technical diploma (DEE/BEE) may suffice for electrical-oriented roles.
- 10–15 years of experience in forging or heavy industrial maintenance roles; a minimum of 8–12 years preferred for senior positions.
- Proven experience working with hydraulic/mechanical forging presses, cranes, PLC systems, and machining equipment.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication abilities.
- Skilled in root-cause analysis, continuous improvement methods, TPM, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Working knowledge of CMMS tools, Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, engineering drawings, and PLC diagnostics is a plus.
- Expertise with hydraulic/mechanical forging presses, cranes, PLC systems, and machining equipment.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Skilled in root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, TPM, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Working knowledge of CMMS tools and Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, engineering drawings, and PLC diagnostics is a plus.
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent
- Expertise in non-ferrous castings, machining processes, and gearbox assembly
- Strong knowledge of ASTM and ISO quality standards & management systems
- Experience in material inspection (various grades of steel & non-ferrous materials)
- Proficiency in SAP S4 Hana quality module for tracking deviations & data management
- Ability to analyse & implement corrective actions (CAPA), manage audits & documentation
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and team coordination skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Preferred: Cost Management Accounting (CMA) Degree
- Expertise in SAP S4 Hana CO module for product costing and cost allocation
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting
- Experience in month-end closing, cost variance analysis, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software
- Ability to analyse cost structures, optimise expenses, and ensure financial accuracy
- Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing environment
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- Expertise in cost estimation and analysis for manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of material grades, non-ferrous alloys, and steel grades
- Experience with cost optimization, vendor coordination, and pricing strategies
- Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP S4 Hana) for costing & material management
- Ability to analyse cost impacts of new product development and modifications
- Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
